Daytime events at Vessel Café will be graced by a lively palette of blue and white décor, accompanied by art-like glass and timber structures. Meanwhile, the slick Vessel Restaurant’s high glass walls pour light into the vast space and present sweeping views to Darling Harbour for more formal dining occasions. Exposed wooden ceiling beams and a futuristic central light fixture anchor the dining room’s modern feel, as architectural design features are carried through to Vessel Bar’s organic, kidney-shaped chrome countertop. Its luxuriant local and foreign beers and wines, plus signature and classic cocktails, promise standout evening soirees and after-dinner drinks alike.

FUNCTION DETAILS
Vessel Restaurant sprawls over stylish indoor and outdoor spaces for seated functions from 10 to 140 guests, and cocktail parties from 30 to 250 guests. Most importantly, it’s just a stone’s throw away from Vessel Bar, which itself can accommodate smaller parties in sectioned-off areas (for minimum 30 guests for canapés) or can be hired out completely for groups of up to 400 people standing. Should an even larger space be required for some 250 seated or 650 cocktail guests, the Restaurant and Bar areas can be combined for exclusive use. Daytime meetings over breakfast or lunch groups of at least 10 people can be held at Vessel Café, which doubles as the venue’s private function room for seated (80 people) or cocktail (150 people) events outside of regular operating hours.

FOOD & BEVERAGE
Chef James Westbrook caters for a range of tastes and dining styles, heading up Vessel’s deluxe dining room, adjacent relaxed café and barside nibbles area. Whether for laid back group lunches or formal evening affairs, mod oz favourites and versatile menus are the common theme among function dining options. Seated events can choose from tapas-style share platters, such as cured meats with pickles, followed by tasty thin crust pizzas, including a chorizo, red pepper and Sicilian green olive topping; and two- to three-course dinners that focus on Mediterranean flavours with a twist and classic bistro meals. Say, an entrée of beef carpaccio with grilled asparagus, rocket and parmesan, followed by a grilled chicken breast with English spinach and tarragon butter main, finished off with warm blueberry and amaretti tart with lemon curd. Cocktail functions planners can ponder hot and cold canapés, (crostini with smoked salmon & horseradish) plus more substantial items (try Sicilian meatballs, or Asian scallop dump ings with hoi sin) and supper dishes for functions that extend later into the night (like the mini wagyu burger with capsicum chutney). Beverage packages are also available to complement the elected dining approach and time frame.
