The 19th century building’s sandstone façade is a noteworthy contrast to the industrial design of the surrounding Sydney skyscrapers. Inside, a sense of timeless elegance is achieved with high ceilings, a neutral palette and luxe marble finishes. Room designs echo the hotel’s camel-coloured exterior with calming sandy hues that exude a stylish simplicity.

FUNCTION DETAILS
The hotel creates unique events that focus on relaxed elegance. Eight meeting rooms provide space for up to 200 guests in total, which are ideal for corporate business meetings, board meetings, social events or private dinners. A dedicated function floor with direct access to Pitt Street includes the two large, modern Marble and Press Rooms, which are each divisible into three smaller spaces. The Mezzanine level features two stately heritage-style rooms with abundant natural light, wood-panelled walls and fireplaces. Functions and private dining can also be arranged within the hotel’s two restaurants, Bistro Fax Restaurant & Bar and Bilson’s.

WEDDINGS
The hotel’s various rooms can be transformed into stunning spaces for wedding receptions both intimate and grand. Smaller seated dinners can be held in the antiquated luxury of the Sir James Fairfax and Sir Warwick Fairfax Rooms, while the Marble and Press Rooms are ideal for larger events and planners after a more contemporary ambience. For all weddings, the catering team will design a menu suited to individual tastes and budgets.

The hotel features 336 stylish guest rooms and 26 chic suites. The spacious guest rooms are some of the largest in the city, each featuring a separate shower and extra deep bath. Choose from a range of room types, all furnished in elegant taupe tones with upscale appliances. FOOD & BEVERAGE
The founding father of Australian cuisine, Tony Bilson, operates his namesake award-winning Bilson’s restaurant from the Plaza’s environs, dishing out fine French food since 2003. For a more casual dining experience, visit the new Bistro Fax Restaurant & Bar, which serves modern Australian cuisine with European influences, and is one of the few Sydney restaurants to also offer a BYO option alongside an extensive wine list.
