The theatre complex at NIDA provides the perfect venue for functions and events, from small and intimate occasions through to large scale events of 800 capacity cocktail style. Stunning design is the signature feature of the facilities. The variety and flexibility of available spaces also make it functionally attractive.
Parade Theatre
The magnificent Parade Theatre is ideally suited for the presentation of theatre works, musicals and dance productions. In addition the theatre is able to accommodate corporate launches, awards nights, conferences and community concerts.
Nancy Fairfax Foyer
The Nancy Fairfax Foyer is set behind the NIDA building's, a three-story glass façade featuring an eye-catching aluminium veil that regulates airflow and ambient temperature. The foyer features the grand staircase, a long elegant bar and at a generous 450 square metres suits a variety of gala events including cocktail parties, launches, fashion parades and sit-down dinners. An extensive catwalk system allows for flexible theming and technical concepts. It can accommodate 800 people for a cocktail function or 350 for a sit down dinner.
Parade Playhouse
The Playhouse is a 155-seat stadium style theatre, perfect for smaller, more intimate theatre productions, seminars, presentations and for use as a break-out room for larger events simultaneously using the Parade Theatre.
James Fairfax Foyer
The designated foyer for the Playhouse, the James Fairfax Foyer can accommodate 190 people in cocktail mode and is highly suitable for small parties, book launches, displays, before and after show parties.
Parade Studio
The Studio is equipped with 120 removable seats and adjustable platforms enabling the venue to be configured in a variety of performance formats or to be cleared completely for a stand-up cocktail party. The theatre features a wrap-around balcony on three sides.
Parade Space
With a maximum capacity of 104, this intimate space is suitable for plays, presentations, seminars and rehearsals.
Reg Grundy Studio
The Reg Grundy Studio can comfortably accommodate up to 100 people for a stand-up function.
Reception Rooms & Galleries
With a splendid view overlooking Anzac Parade to the University, this space is ideally suited for small workshops, classes or private functions of up to 120 guests cocktail style.
