CATALINA is owned and operated by veteran restaurateurs Michael and Judy McMahon.

CATALINA is a Sydney institution. It is a must-do for any visitor to Sydney. Over the past 17 years, CATALINA has become renowned amongst the events industry and the public in general, for hosting stylish, impeccably detailed functions. Two years in a row winner of the Restaurant and Catering category for Best Restaurant Wedding Caterer (2005 and 2006).

The restaurant features floor to ceiling glass sliding doors, opening out onto a 40 metre long curved balcony, with unobstructed water level views of Rose Bay and Shark Island.

FOOD AND BEVERAGE
Reflecting the superb harbour location, Mark Axisa, HeadChef has created a contemporary Australian menu focusing on Italian and Spanish flavours. The same quality and style of food is offered in all of CATALINA'S function menus.

CATALINA'S wine list is one of the best in Australia, featuring an extensive and impressive range of Imported and Australian wines, including many hard-to-get aged wines. The function wine list is offered as a shortlist of well-priced, excellent wines, available in large quantities. Naturally, wines for functions may also be selected from our extensive restaurant wine list, however are subject to availability.

• CATALINA has a dedicated, experienced function co-ordinator who consults closely with the client, is creative and personable, and gives complete attention to every detail.

• Available for wedding receptions, cocktail parties, private celebrations, PR launches, corporate functions, Gala dinners, breakfast meetings and charity events.

* Cocktail party for up to 200
* Formal sit down dinner for up to 150 (130 with Dance Floor)
* Less formal ‘Travelling Entrée”, followed by sit down main course and dessert

THE 'TASTING':
Menus are selected at a tasting, at which the client can sample a shortlist of restaurant quality entrées, mains and desserts, with wines matched and recommended by the Sommelier according to the client’s budget. The client’s requirements are all discussed in detail and finalised at the tasting (tastings not available for cocktail party food).

SMALLER GROUPS:
Catalina regularly hosts smaller sit down functions of from 14 - 50 people in areas of the restaurant dining room.

Tables are grouped together; menus, place cards and wines organised; and the clients' needs individually assessed and accommodated. All aspects can be arranged via email.
